Dorothy V. Petrach, 96, of Bettendorf, Iowa passed away Friday, August 30, 2024 at The Vistas of Bettendorf with her family by her side. Private family services will be held at Weerts Funeral Home. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park following the service.
Dorothy was born on February 21, 1928 in Merrillville, Indiana to Lester and Rachel Borman. She was united in marriage to Emil Petrach on August 27, 1949 in Merrillville, Indiana. She was a cheerleader at the Merrillville High School, prom queen, and voted “Best Personality”. Dorothy was a charter member of the Bettendorf Christian Church; 3rd grade Sunday School Teacher and a Blue Bird Leader. She enjoyed gardening and meeting new people.
Those left to honor her memory are her children Kathy (Bill) DeSchinckel, and Mark (Kristine) Petrach; son-in-law Delfino Sancen; granddaughter Lindsey Kennedy; great-granddaughter Taylor Parr; sister Betty Lou Mummery.
She was preceded in death by her husband Emil, her daughter Nancy Sancen, and her parents Lester and Rachel Borman.
