Dorothy Edna Bargmann

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM, Thursday February 8, 2024 in the Fairmount Cemetery Mausoleum.

Dorothy was born to William and Henrietta Hoechst on August 23, 1924, in Rock Island, IL. Dorothy graduated from Davenport High School in 1943. She married Kenneth Bargmann on March 3, 1946 and they were happily married for 70 years before Ken passed away in 2016. Dorothy and Ken moved to Minnesota in 1957 and lived in Aurora until 2015 to move back to Davenport and be closer to family.

Dorothy is survived by her children, James (Joanne) Bargmann, Waterford, CT, and Shawna (Dave) Corby, Davenport, IA, her sister Betty Minick, Panora, IA, and her grandchildren Leslie (Rob) Runyon, LaLanya Bargmann, Lisa Bargmann, Adam (Brooke) Toolan, and Ashley Toolan, and great grandchildren James Runyon, Haley Runyon, Lilly Sparen, and granddog Ginger.

Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, husband, sisters Marjorie Hoechst, and Mary Ann Connell.

The family would like to thank the Jersey Ridge Place staff who loved and cared for her and the residents who befriended her and filled her days with fun and laughter for the last three years. We would also like to thank the Genesis 6th floor nurses, and Genesis Hospice nurses that cared for her in the last week of her life. Your care and compassion will not be soon forgotten.
