Doris M.Williams, 103, of Davenport passed away January 2, 2017 at Davenport Good Samaritan Center. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, January 7, 2017 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Friday at the mortuary. Private burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Doris Martha Stewart was born in Marshall Co., Iowa on May 26, 1913, the oldest of three daughters born to George H. and Mabel (Morgan) Stewart. On February 8, 1935 she was joined in marriage to Clyde S. Williams who preceded her in death on March 19, 1997. In 1942 the family moved to Davenport. Doris retired from what was then ARMCOM with 27 years of government service. She was a member of Cedar Memorial Christian Church where she taught Sunday school and served on the Church Board for many years. Other memberships included a lifetime membership in NARFE and AARP. She loved her family and church, devotedly. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Kent C. and Julie Williams, daughter-in-law Anmarie Williams; seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son, Keith S. Williams and two sisters, Lois Hudspeth and Elinor Shore.
