I well remember delighting in singing songs to my 8 year old sister Donna just to watch to see if she could play songs she never heard before in the piano after two repetitions (before she took lessons).  As a teenager she could play 8 different instruments.   She was a creative, loving, delightful sister. She lived far away most of our adult lives but was always in my heart as she remains.  Her loving spirit was evident in her son, Sean and her daughter, Clair who took such wonderful care of her in her final days.  I miss you little sister but you will always be in my heart.

Submitted by Lynn Magrath for our brother Jim.  He wrote this poem for us a few days after le lost our baby sister.   I had hoped for a baby brother, Often, I had begged my mother But my “brother dream ‘ was not to be  I’d another sister now you see:  They named her Donna C.,  All without consulting me. As she lay there in her bed,  her face a scrunched up, a wrinkled red,  ‘Twas easy enough for me to see,  she never would, my playmate be. Even given time to grow,  A baseball, she could never throw.   So at last accepting of my fate,  I vowed this sister I’d not hate.  And as the days flew by you see.  She started then to grow.....on me.   One day, I loaded her up in Mama’s pram,  and bouncing down the road we ran. In hot pursuit, razor strap handy, gaining fast, was our dear Granny!  That sidewalk’s rough and filled with cracks!  She cried, with dread. You’ll tip over, dump her out  and break her head!  I’m certain that was never my intent  but I hit a crack and over she went! Baby Donna landed on the grass.  The razor strap landed on my......   Well, you can see this stories done,  recounting it now was just for fun. Lest you think that I, with the truth, was bold, It happened just as I have told.   They’re gone now, both Donna and Gram.  Trending streets of gold in Beulah land. While angelic voices sing... Remembering...I still feel the sting!   It’s the sting of loss that’s all too real. Pain in my heart never seems to pass But I know I will see them again...at last. JLRB

I am so sorry for your loss.  I have lots of memories of Donna growing up.  She will be missed.

We so loved Donna and miss her. She was a wonderful woman with such tremendous spirit and joy for life. We enjoyed spending time with her here in Florida and getting to know her better. We also enjoyed meeting her children, grandchildren, and siblings. You are all so wonderful and gave Donna so much joy and love. We wish you well through this difficult time.

Donna was a sweet and loving mother, sister and wife. We will miss her and have all of you in our thoughts.  Barbara, Jay, Donna and Jason
