Donald C. Muller, 86, of Davenport passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2012. Friends may call from 5-8 pm on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at the Runge Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, November 30, 2012 at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 121 W. 12th Street, Davenport, Iowa. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Muller was an honorably discharged Army veteran of World War II having received the Purple Heart for injuries received during the Battle of the Bulge.
On October 30, 1948 he married Muriel A. Bartlett in Brooklyn, New York. She preceded him in death on May 5, 2005. He received his Masters degree from Columbia University and taught in the Davenport Community Schools specializing in Special Education.
His memberships included Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, Davenport Horticultural Society, and VFW Post 128. He was an accomplished Iowa artist, specializing in botanicals, landscapes, and buildings.
Survivors include his children Don, Robin (John), Heather (Curt), and Chris (Tabbetha); son-in-law Roger; twelve grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Elise.
