Delores Belle Sigmon

Delores B. Sigmon, 83, of Rock Island, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. A Funeral Service will be held on February 23, at 4:00p.m. in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will begin at 2 pm until the time of service. A private burial will be held at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, IL. Memorials may be made to the Lions Club Blind Foundation. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.

Delores was born March 8, 1934 in Sterling, IL to Hermon and Sarah (Hussong) Buchwald. She married Dallas Sigmon on November 16, 1952 in Rock Island, IL. He passed away January 11, 2009.

She had worked at Midwest Mortgage doing lien searches for over twenty years prior to her retirement.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, the Women’s Lions Auxiliary, and Business Woman’s Association. Delores enjoyed doing crafts, spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also made prayer shawls for her church.

Survivors include her son, Larry Sigmon, FL; two daughters: Linda (Dennis) McCallum, IA, Lori (Robert) Pegg, IL; seven grandchildren: Robert (Priscila) Pegg, OK, Jason Pegg, IL, Jeremy Pegg, FL, Sean (Kendra) McCallum, IA, Sarah McCallum, IA, Emily McCallum, AZ, and Heather Steele, FL; also, six great grandchildren: Austin, Lynzy, Caitlynn, Dylan, Raiden, Miah and sister, Helen Schwarzkopf.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and nephew, Robert Buchwald.
