He was born in Davenport and lived in Scott County all of his life except for brief stays in Burlington and Red Oak, Iowa.
David loved all kinds of jewelry and watches and was most proud of the medals he received while participating in the Special Olympics. He wore them everywhere and showed them off to anyone he met. He also especially liked golf and baseball and played both sports for many years.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Ruth Heuer. He is survived by his brother Mark Heuer, a nephew Grant Heuer of Iowa City, niece Laine Porter of Evanston, Ilinois, and several cousins on both sides of the family.
Special thanks to the staff of New Choices for their care and concern for David during his time with them over the last 20 years.
