Darryl G. Brasch, 85, of Davenport, Iowa was called to his heavenly home on Monday, June 26, 2023. Funeral services to honor his memory will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 3pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, Davenport; visitation will be before the service starting at 2pm. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Darryl’s name may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
Darryl was born on December 21, 1937 in Davenport, Iowa to Robert and Mabel Brasch. Following high school, Darryl joined the United States Marine Corps and served for six years. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Linda Jager, on November 2, 1958; they celebrated 64 years of marriage together. Following his time in the Marines, Darryl went to work for Elliott Aviation for 42 years and retired in 2000. He was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church, serving in many volunteer positions, most recently at Trinity Lutheran Church. Darryl enjoyed all things to do with trains, planes, and working on various woodworking projects.
Those left to honor his memory are his wife Linda; daughters Jodi (David) Buzzell and Kelly (Guy) Skinner; grandchildren: Nikki (Kent) Gullion, Steve (Jessica) Buzzell, Lauren (Jeff) Sheets, Macie Skinner, and Lexi Skinner; great-grandchildren Landen, Grace, Danica, Anna, Gavin, Brayden, Donovan, Jesse, Drew, Remy, Avery, Peyton, and Jaxson; his sister Nancy Trout; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Barbara Smith and brothers-in-law Calvin Smith and Edward Trout.
