Davenport, IA Memorial services for Daniel F. “Pete” Schneider, 85, of Davenport will be 1:00 pm on Saturday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion #26. Family will greet friends on Saturday from 12:00 pm to service time at the Mortuary. Cunnick - Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.Daniel passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017 at the VA Medical Center, Iowa City.Daniel was born on September 28, 1931 in Wapello, Iowa, the son of Carl and Henrieta (Foor) Schneider. He married Ruth Ferguson, they were later divorced. He later married Carolyn Davis, they were later divorced. Daniel served 12 years in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict as a helicopter mechanic. After serving in the military he moved to Davenport and worked as an electrician for several companies.Daniel loved spending time with his grandchildren, and spending time on the river, fishing.Survivors include his daughters; Debbie (Wayne) Guldenpfennig of Iowa City., Lea Ann Schneider of Davenport, IA., Sara Schneider of Iowa City, IA., Teresa (Kevin) Meacham of West Des Moines, 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, brother; Richard “Dick” Schneider and sister; Barbara Sands of Morning Sun, Iowa.He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Phillip, Mike and Doug, and sisters; Betty Gerst, Jean Strawhacker and Evelyn Petersen.Memorials may be made to the family.Remembrances and condolences may be made to the family at www.cunnick-collins.com.
