My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. My family knew him in our younger years. As our dads worked together. 

My sincerest of condolences to the Neumiller family.  I've worked briefly with Dan for almost six months in the year 2005.  He was the most open, honest and friendliest person one could ever meet and become comfortable around. One day I made Dan a figure of a man out of thick paper, shaped it into the form of a person and bent it into a sitting position, I then expressed to Dan that not many of us come from the same fortunes in life, as that paper man at one time in my life was the only type of toy I could afford in life.  That humble beginning in my life motivated me to seek more in life and never settle for less.  Dan was so impressed with the origin of that figure and it's significance that he kept it on his desk for many years as a reminder of fortunes and humility that we must constantly remind ourselves daily of who we are and interact with deserve all the kindness, warmth and respect that we can muster out of our hearts and hopefully make another person feel like they are someone important and significant.  To my knowledge, Dan carried this figure home upon his retirement as a constant reminder to stay rooted to his humility as he carried on throughout his interactions with others.   While my proximity around Dan did not last long, we maintained a friendship that lasted up to his retirement from the Arsenal,  We always stopped to speak to each other in passing between destinations as if we were still working together.  I was truly disappointed he was retiring but was happy for him as well as he seemed happy to look forward to being home with family.  I didn't see this coming to someone who was so well liked and kind to everyone regardless of circumstance.  Daniel is in good hands and good company with the better angels and his predeceased family.  May his sprit and kindness stay within us as we pass our days with our loved ones.

One of the nicest people I worked with both at USADACS in Savanna, Illinois and  at several commands on Rock Island Arsenal.  He will be missed.

I remember the first time I met Dan.  I went to visit my Auntie Jo and she was excited to introduce him.  I'm skeptical of new people, but the moment I got there, Dan opened his arms and hugged me.  After a couple days visit, I left realizing he was a kind soul and a great fit for my aunt and to the family.  I was proud to call him my uncle.

My sincere condolences for your loss.  May God's grace flow over your family as you mourn the loss of your loved one.  We have many fond memories of Dan during his tenure at the Arsenal.  I wish you peace and comfort as you lay him to rest.

Dan always had a smile for everyone.  He was a positive person every day at work.  He was a friend to everyone and I will miss him.  I wish he would've had more time to enjoy his retirement and his family, but I'm sure that Dan made the most of every second.

My cousin and friend, you will be missed greatly. We may have been separated by many miles, but you have always have been, and always will be, in my heart! Rest In Peace. Give my love to all our families in heaven. Love you brother!! “Cuzin’ Levi from Texas”. HaHa

Dan was a kind man who took his job seriously, but always kept his good humor.  He was someone you could count on for the right answer, as well as a good chuckle.  He will be missed by all who knew  him.

I worked with Dan for 13 years at Rock Island Arsenal.  He was always kind, compassionate and a true gentleman.  He loved his family and friends very much.  He will always be remembered with love.  Rest in peace dear friend.
