Cornelius “Jody” Cooks, Jr., 72, of Davenport passed away on December 1, 2016 in his home. Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded. He was born March 26, 1944 in Pine Bluff, AK the son of Cornelius Cook, Sr. and Sister Hattie C. Ivory. He was united marriage to Tena M. Jett on October 5, 2013. Jody loved jazz music, fishing, spending time at the river, watching western movies and enjoying great food. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends was loved by all. Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Tena; sons: Lance Cooks, Canada, Marcus (Malaya) Cooks, Canada, Tony (Yariza) Cooks, Texas and DD Cooks, Tennesee; grandchildren: Enrique Tatiana, Natalia and David, sister, Mildred Burgermeister, CO and a host of family and friends. Jody was preceded in death by his father, Cornelius Cooks, Sr.; mother and step-father Sister Hattie C. (Deacon Tanny) Green; and grandmother, Mary McCoy.
