Cheryl was a transcriptionist in the medical and legal field for several years. She was always strong and positive and made the best of her long trips to the University of Iowa Cancer Center by stopping in Kolona, the Amana Colonies and the Williamsburg outlet mall. She especially enjoyed shopping at the Ralph Lauren Polo outlet where she enjoyed buying clothes for her grandkids. Cheryl loved her music and going to concerts including the Dave Matthews Band, Roger Waters, David Gilmore, Tom Petty and the play Wicked in Chicago. Cheryl was extremely proud of her children and their pursuit of their education and careers. She also adored her grandchildren.
She was a lover of flowers, trees and a true lover of life. Cheryl was a hugger, and in honor of her the family asks that you please hug the ones you love (and maybe some strangers) as often as you can. She will always be remembered for her infectious smile and her big heart. A special Thank you to the team of caregivers that assisted in this journey. We would also like to thank the caring staff at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice.
Survivors include her fiancé; Robert Blackburn Jr, his parents; Robert and Doris Blackburn, a son; Bryan Williams, two daughters: Erin Williams and Jessica Heath. Bonus children, Laycie Cruse; Glenn Hubbard; Thomas Gustafson; and Ray Cruys. “Grandma Sunshine” to Bailey; Wyatt; Dean; Cydney; Kylee; Kazmiere; Nollie; Noah; and Nolan. One sister Mary Hepner. And many nieces and nephews. Dear friends, Arnie and Teresea Anderson and her best friend, Dascher. She was preceded by her mother Beverly Ingram.
