To the entire Lee family-I met Chuck 40 years ago, he used to run Security at Rudy's East on Friday and Saturday nights after the football games to keep the high school kids in line. They would pile in to eat after the games. He was one of the sweetest, hardworking, honest, kind and most patient men I've ever know. He was my children's D.A.R.E Officer at Monroe School. I have his picture with them I took after the ceremony. It was always nice to see him, always had a smile on his face and a kind word to say. I don't ever remember him raising his voice ever. I am saddened to hear of Chuck's passing but relieved to know, above it all, Chuck has reached his highest ground. I, too, was a neighborhood friend having grown up on Mound Street just south of Locust Street. I also followed Chuck through the Davenport School System. I can only chuckle (out loud). My condolences to the families. May his memories also be a blessing. Rest peacefully in the hands of the Lord Chuck Lee. See you when I see you

So very sorry we grew as friends in school. He was a good friend   Nice person who you could tell was gonna do good things in life   Whenever we ran into each other it seemed like we could tell each other years worth of our lives in a few minutes   I’m going to miss them times

I’m saddened to hear of Chucks passing.  My condolences to the family.  I enjoyed talking to Chuck on the phone several times recently .  A great guy with a great laugh and a neighborhood  and school friend.  Many fun and funny things like 3 of us skipping the first day of school at Central and Mr. Lee catching us downtown.   Well it wasn’t funny at the time. God Bless.

I first met Chuck during junior high school days. I remember him at my parent's home and we would be upstairs in my music room playing guitar. We ended up playing in a couple of bands together. 

We were all surprised when he became a Davenport cop. And I remember when I received my "Adult High School Diploma" he tried talking me into becoming a policeman. Over the years I would occasionally meet up with Chuck in unexpected situations; as when I got into a car wreck on River Drive in Davenport. Chuck was on the first policeman on the scene, and he made that experience easier for me.

Thanks for some very good memories Charlie, you deserve a good gig in Heaven...!

Chuck was part of a crew of St Louis Cardinal fans from the DPD. We attended many games at Busch together for many years, and got to see the Cardinals win it all in 2006 and 2011. I also remember Chuck’s band playing at the Union steak fry at Knights of Columbus, he played a great guitar. Easy-going, friendly - Rest in Peace Chuck, you will be missed by many.

I grew up with Chuck as we were neighbors.  Just an all around great guy.  I have wonderful memories of playing baseball and football with Chuck and the neighborhood gang in the field behind our homes on Lombard.  Chuck was without a doubt the fastest kid in the neighborhood.  Once he caught a pass no one was going to catch him!  He was also a kind and caring individual and served his city well as a police officer.  You will be missed by all.

Chuck was a wonderful person and had the rare gift of remembering the names of everyone he came into contact  as a beat cop. He was a true professional and treated everyone with respect. He always was upbeat and had a smile when he greeted you. It was an honor to know him. Rest in peace brother.
