He was born on April 9, 2005 in Bettendorf, the son of Matthew Cooper and Michelle (Sloan) Cooper. He had a wonderful life ahead of him and had a loving and fun personality, a handsome and infectious smile, ambitious plans for life after college, and a passion for all things football. Simply knowing Carter was a blessing to everyone!
Carter had just graduated from Bettendorf High School in the Spring of 2023 where he played varsity football. He had just begun as a first-year student at Kirkwood Community College, studying to one day be a firefighter. He was a leader – loved and respected by everyone. Carter loved his family and tried to make every family event. He would eagerly play sports, go tubing, snowboarding, play video games or hang out with his cousins.
He had a strong bond with his mom, who he enjoyed the outdoors and late-night talks. He loved spending time watching the Chicago Bears, Bulls and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He also loved sports-card collecting with his dad.
He is survived by his father, Matthew, mother, Michelle, brother, Kainan, and will be deeply missed by his grandparents, Kimberly Sperry, Ken Cooper (Debbie), and Gary Sloan (Maria). Carter is also cherished by his aunts and uncles: Paul Cooper, Abby Berntgen (Adam), Anna Wilson (Tyler), Ryan Sperry (Atalissa), and cousins, Cutler Cooper, Olivia Berntgen, Kinsley Berntgen, Odin Wilson, and Beckham Berntgen. His loving girlfriend, Ava Utsinger held a special place in his heart.
Carter is preceded in death by his aunt, Sarah Cooper and grandfather, Darrell Sperry.
