Carla J Holmes

Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at The Runge Mortuary with visitation starting at 11:00 AM until service time. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Carla was born January 17, 1949 in Davenport, the daughter of Carlton and Luella (Smith) Holmes.

She was employed as a program analyst at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in 2005 after 30 years of service. She was a member of the Christian Women’s Association. Carla served as treasurer of her bowling league for many years. She enjoyed playing bingo, euchre and attending rodeos event with her special friend Allen. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory are her daughter Jamie Lynn Holmes, Davenport; grandchildren, Kyla, Keegan, and Sienna; extra special friend, Allen King, Tipton.; brothers, Danny (Peggy) Holmes, Bettendorf and Gordon (Linda) Holmes, Davenport; sister, Leslie (Darrel) Niemann , Waupaca, WI. And nieces and nephews Heather Potter, Celeste Fuller, Christopher and Brian Holmes, Clark Grabbe, Karen Smith, DeAnna Lindsey, and Dale Niemann. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlton and Luella Holmes and her brother Larry Holmes.
