A private interment took place Sunday, September 15, at Mt. Nebo Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Service for Beverly will be published in the Quad City Times newspaper, as soon as it becomes scheduled. Beverly, the daughter of David and Evelyn, was born in 1932 in Grand Rapids, MI. She married Sheldon Sitrick on November 25, 1951, in Davenport. He preceded her in death on April 8, 1988.
Beverly was a life-long resident of the area, growing up in Davenport and later living in Bettendorf. She graduated from Davenport High School and attended the University of Wisconsin. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan (except when they were playing Wisconsin). Bev volunteered at St. Luke’s Hospital, was a member of Junior League of the Quad Cities and the Temple Emanuel Sisterhood. She enjoyed bridge, mahjong, and hand-held poker games. She and Sheldon were also long-time members of the Davenport Country Club. She loved attending and being the best cheerleader for her children’s, grandchildren’s, and great-grandchildren’s sporting events. She truly loved being a second mother to her children’s friends.
Beverly was dearly loved by all who knew her. Survivors include her children: Dianne (Marc) Shlaes, Barbara (David) Smith, Mark (Tara) Sitrick and Trudy Sitrick; grandchildren: Jason (Courtney) Smith, Jennifer Smith, David Sitrick, Molly (Carl) Anderson and Kaley Shlaes (fiancé Liam Connors); great-grandchildren: Jakobe, Carson, Callie, Samantha, Tristan and Charlie. She is also survived by her SO (Significant Other) Harold “Bisch” Bischman.
Memorials may be made to American Heart Association and Genesis Skilled Care Unit (Davenport, IA).
