Betty Jean Miller

Betty was born on June 17, 1927 in Davenport, Iowa to Fred and Elizabeth (Wells) Welzenbach. Betty and late husband ,Walter, owned and operated a local butcher shop until 1966 when he passed away. She then worked at Mercy Hospital where she retired in 1990 as a Dietary Aide.

She enjoyed knitting, playing Solitaire and playing Bunco. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, as she loved putting up the tree and decorations following Halloween. Her favorite TV shows were Gunsmoke, Daniel Boone, Rawhide, and Big Valley. She liked to listen to Nat King Cole, Willie Nelson, Elvis and Eddy Arnold. She loved spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Cindy (Jerry) Ruddell, John (Connie) Miller, and Ralph (Lori) Miller; sisters, Joyce and Sally; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter and son-in law, Laura and Butch Miller; sister, Mary; and brothers, Jimmy, Fritz, and Ronnie.
