Betty J. McKee

Betty J. McKee, 79, of Davenport passed away at the home of her daughter and son-in-law on Monday, December 22, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be Saturday, December 27, 2014 from 10 am until noon at The Runge Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 27, 2014 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel with burial to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Betty was born September 23, 1935 in Panama, IA; a daughter of Melvin and Loretta (Schmitz) Branstetter. On July 4, 1955 she married William J. McKee. He preceded her in death on October 22, 2005. She retired from Northwest Bank & Trust following 26 years of dedicated service.

Betty enjoyed crafting, bowling, reading, bunco, camping, gambling, the Chicago Cubs and her dog, Waldo. She was the #1 supporter/fan of her grandson, Kevin who was a Paralympic Gold Medalist at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. The most special love of her life was her family, especially her four grandchildren and her great grandson, Oscar.

Survivors include: daughter, Nancy (Leo) Kranz, son, Brian McKee (Roxann Adamson); grandchildren: Erin (Dan) Wengerhoff; Bradley Siem, Amy (Nic) Groth; Kevin McKee (Erica Mitchell); 1.6 great grandchildren; Oscar and his brother who is due in March; siblings: Dorothy Lefeber, Marietta Jacobs, Cecil Branstetter, Dan (Karen) Branstetter, Rick (Laura) Branstetter; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dick and Sandy McKee.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Mae Shafer, daughter-in-law, Susan K. McKee and many other loved family members. The family wants to express their gratitude to Nichole with Genesis Hospice.
