Aunt Betty and Uncle Bob came to see us in Spain.  They loved to travel and experience the fine arts.  We went to a flamingo dance performance.  The Gypsies sang and played their guitars beautifully .  The dancers were fantastic.  Aunt Betty loved the program. Uncle Bob was so tired that loud snoring was competition to the music!  😂❤️  They  were love and laughter.  I miss them both.

We extend our sincerest condolences to Betty's family.  She was a wonderful friend to my Mom, Gloria, and a very kind and caring person to all.

Betty was such a delight at Temple Emanuel and literally kept us going for over 50 years.   She had a wonderful, funny story about meeting Rabbi Zion for the first time and she was practically hired on the spot!  If you had a question or a need, she was always there with an answer.  She will be missed by many, but especially from her Temple family.   Best wishes to all those who remember her fondly.

Betty was a class act.  She had so much to teach all of us in regards to how to live a life worth living. Always kind, cheerful, smart, gentle and fun, I loved Betty’s smile and quick wit.  Never did I see her flustered or stressed out. Her job at Temple Emanuel had to be challenging and demanding with all the hats she wore. Deepest sympathy to her family and loved ones.


When we were little my Aunt Betty and Uncle Bob took my brother, Donny, and I to Chicago to visit the Museum  of Science and Industry.  I remember all the buttons we were allowed to touch.  They enjoyed telling the story of taking us to lunch after the museum.  We apparently ordered lobster!  I have no memory of lunch, but I will always remember that day!  They loved all their nephews and nieces very much.  It was a special  treat when Aunt Betty would sit down and play the organ for us.  I remember her playing the songs Moon River and Somewhere My Love.  Aunt Betty was a loving, smart, caring, fun person.  She was always a Lady.  I admired her very much.  She gave my brother and I our first Bibles.  Our names were engraved on them.  They were precious  gifts from our cherished  Aunt Betty!  I am so glad that she and Uncle Bob were in my life.  Their love has and will always be one of God’s greatest gifts to me.

Betty will be missed for her quiet efficient nature. She was a diligent member of the Temple family.  She was a blessing to those who hold her dear.  SHALOM!

Betty will always have a warm spot in our hearts. She was kind, helpful and loving. We at the Temple were always blessed to have Betty in our lives.  She will be sorely missed.

Betty is survived by her sister-in-law, Pat Wells and her seven nephews and six nieces.


She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, John L. Wells, Thomas Wells and Don Wells and two sisters, Rose Pleasant and Dory Raney.
