Barbara Jo Schroeder

Barbara Jo Schroeder, 75, of Davenport, Iowa; passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021 at the Genesis East Medical Center. There will be no services at this time. Memorials in Barbara’s memory may be made to the Scott County Humane Society or to your favorite animal charity.

Barbara was born on January 14, 1946 to Robert and Elaine Gaylor in Davenport, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Ken Schroeder on July 2, 1966, they later divorced. Barbara worked as a Para Educator in Davenport Community School District, with most of the time spent at Annie Wittenmyer school and the Keystone Academy for 25 years before she retired. She was an avid reader and could always be found with a book or magazine nearby. If she wasn’t reading she was shopping, for antiques or on QVC. Barbara also worked at the Dugout Sports Complex in Davenport for 20 years in the concessions. She always enjoyed and cherished her softball family. Barbara also liked to spend time at the casinos with her family. Her greatest passion by far was helping animals in need and her FaceBook page was full of lost or missing pets not just from the Quad Cities, but from all over the country.

Barbara is survived by her son Cory (Christy); grandchildren Ryne and Nolan; sister Bobbie (Randy) Bechel; sister in law Laura (Carl) Ripperton; Several Nieces and Nephews and her beloved cat Blake. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Payton, niece and a nephew.
