Barbara O Ritter

Barbara “Barb” Opal Ritter, 63, of Le Claire, IA, went to be with Jesus on November 19, 2023 in her home surrounded by her family and close friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 1, from 2:00-3:30 p.m. and a Celebration of Life Service will begin at 3:30 with a dinner to follow. All will be held at Riverside Foursquare Church, 302 N Cody Road, Le Claire, IA 52753. Memorials may be left to Riverside Foursquare Church or Legacies Alive. Barb was born on August 10, 1960 to Martha Donelson. She graduated from Cambridge High School in 1978. She was very active with her church family and loved Jesus. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and her dog, Stella. Her grandchildren always enjoyed her loving hugs, guidance and encouragement, breakfasts with fluffy pancakes, and lunches at Mission BBQ. Barb was a Gold Star Mom who volunteered her time to various organizations in her son Sgt. Leevon Ritter’s memory. These organizations included Legacies Alive, where she was a frequent speaker at their events, personally wrote the Legacies Alive prayer that is read before every meeting and event, and earlier this year she participated in and completed the 10K Mountain Man Memorial March. She was also active in the Travis Manion Foundation, where she traveled across the United States helping teams build tiny homes for homeless veterans. She owned and operated Expose the Dirt Cleaning Service and was an instrumental supporter and advocate for bringing the Scott County Freedom Rock to the Le Claire levee.

She is survived by her children, Eric (Aimee) Moss, Micyla (Aaron) Kimball, Taycee Ritter; grandchildren, Alex, Ava, Quinn and Decker; siblings, Lani Deloose, Bob Smith, Dave Smith, Sandy Nussear, Danny Knudson and Kathy Driscoll.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Donelson and sons Leevon Ritter and Baby Adam.
