Barbara J. Malone

Bettendorf – Services for Barbara Jean Malone, 78, Bettendorf, will be held at Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 11:30 am at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Friday from 5-8 pm at the mortuary. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. Mrs. Malone died Monday, March 12, 2012 at the Iowa Masonic Health Facilities, Bettendorf. Memorials may be made to the family or Genesis Hospice. Mrs. Malone was born May 20, 1933, in Davenport, IA to Austin Bundy and Minnie (Henning) Bundy Weber.

She married George Robert Malone on February 12, 1949, in Davenport. They had five children and celebrated their 60th anniversary before he passed away in October 2009. She enjoyed needlework and crafting projects including her favorite, crocheting. She also enjoyed traveling, camping and fishing with friends and visiting her children and families.

Survivors include three daughters, Patti (Frank) Burch, Tucson, AZ, Ruth (Bill) Young, Waterloo, IA and Cindy (Mike) Norman, Troy, MO, one son, Tom, of Bettendorf, 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a sister, Charlene Myers of Bettendorf.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, George Malone, Jr. and a sister Donna Janus.
