Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Austin during visitation from 4–8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory in Davenport, IA. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory. Following services, Austin will be entombed in the columbarium walls with military honors at the Rock Island National Cemetery on the Rock Island Arsenal, IL. Austin was born on March 13, 1993, to Joel Alberts and Frances Lofgren in Maryville, TN. He served in the United States Navy from January 2014–2018 as a Propulsion Plant Engineer on the USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). Austin married Christine La, his high school sweetheart, on May 27, 2016, in Davenport, IA, and they shared 13 beautiful years together. For the past five years, not only was Austin employed as a Chemical Research and Development Specialist with Air Liquide in Fremont, CA, he was also actively pursuing his Master's Degree in Material Science.
Some of the many qualities we remember about Austin were his warm smile, kind and loving spirit, contagious laugh, limitless talents and creativity, and his unique sense of style. Austin often lit up a room with his playful humor. He was an old soul- unrushed, meticulous and carefree. In everything Austin pursued, he did it with great pride, dedication, and hard work.
Austin loved gourmet cooking and fine dining, hiking and exploring the vast outdoors, gaming with his brothers, a variety of music, oil painting, and gardening. Most of all, Austin loved his family and friends.
