Antwun, it was to soon cousin! You always called me cousin. I remember when Nikki, Paul and myself where just kids and you would come visit as you where in route to a fight! Bringing your championship belts, bullying us and even loving us as much as you did! You use to let us wear your belts. We sat behind countless screens cheering you to your next victory. Our last convo you told me you where training again to get back in the ropes. Cousin will forever cherish the bond we had! Even as adults you would sometimes video call just to say high! Fly high cousin and make sure to tell the family we said high! Love you and I’m surely gonna miss your crazy tail! 🥰

I remember its was Mo Chamda Atwun and Mark plus Mama Vern i still see us running around as kids. You were always firm you stood above alot i didnt understand but you showed me everytime . Funny ass me lol...a True Boxer knockin em down since i remember but the Person was so much more rare. That was the line of respect. To have someone you know dear and is a celeberty, famous, str8 out the Qc is heralded Only built for cuban linx. Definitely one of Our Hood Legends You had so much belief in me you was going to take me to Roy Jones studio in 03 the rest is history. I just appreciated the opportunity in your eyes bro. Gonna miss you walking by everyday just to say hello or joke around for a minute. But you took your wings now, We love you. 

I want to give my condolences to the Echols family and to everybody that genuinely loved him. Antwon was my God brother, and one of my closest friends. Antwon knows how much he meant to me,  and I know I meant just as much to him. Fly high bruh I'll always hold a special place for you in my heart. 

Antwun and I met and became friends in Jr High at J.B. Young . Even though none of us had alot back in those days, I remember Antwun to be somewhat shy, caring person who would give you his last and he had a great sense of humor that always had me cracking up. Back then I believe we all thought Twun was going to be an All-star comedian, no one knew he had them hands of stone and would turn out to become an Olympic, 1st Class World Championship boxer.  I moved away in High School and we lost touch, but I was blessed to finally be able to reconnect with my friend just a few months ago and we were able pick up where we left off to catch up and talk about how life treated us.  I appreciated Antwun sharing some great stories about his career, some play-by-play of his fights, and all of the people he'd met and places he'd been. 

To me, he was still the same comedic, down to earth person who'd give you the shirt off his back. I only wish we had more time. Antwun shared some of his ideas and his passion for wanting to give back to the youth in the community.  Gone to soon, we definitely lost a true one! RIP my friend!!!

I went to Johnson elementary school with Antwun and watched several of his boxing matches gone way too soon my condolences to his family 

I'm praying for my family. I am going to miss my sweet cousin 💜. We have memories together that I will hold in my heart 💜. Baby cousin you left us all to soon 💜. I will always love you and cherish your visits to my home and our phone calls. We always had space in our house for you 💜. Now you always have a special space in my heart where I have our memories stored for life 💜💜💜💜. My heart breaks but our love overrides my tears 💜💜

Antwon would stop by my house often and we would talk about the good ole days and laugh till tears fill our eyes. My grandson was over and Antwon asked him have he ever met a champ before. Grandson said no then Antwon said you looking at one and they ended up taking this pic together. Man O man my heart cry’s because I just seen you on Saturday and now your gone! Rest easy my ole school friend. You will be truly missed😢❤️

Echols family have my deepest sympathy and condolences from the Lewis/Evans family, all the way from Chicago. Every time I see him I always say champ he was a good dude very respectful and will give you the shirt off his back when I came here 22 years ago when I knew he was I always called him champ AKA kid Dynamite.
