Anthony L. Schumacher, Jr., 81, of Davenport, passed away Monday, January 20, 2014 at Genesis Medical Center – East Campus. There will be no services. Cremation rites will be accorded per his wish. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com.
He was born August 8, 1932 in Iowa City, IA, the son of Anthony and Bertha (Rickerson) Schumacher, Sr. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Harris on June 26, 1951 in Davenport, IA. She preceded him in death in 1996.
He worked as a welder for Ramco until he moved to Florida in 1972.
Anthony is survived by one son, Ray A. (Margaret) Schumacher, Spring Hill, FL; two daughters, Nancy Garrett, Davenport and Diana Schumacher, Davenport; one brother, Frank A. Schumacher, Davenport; six grandchildren, Dawn (Peter) Perry, Mebane, NC, Christopher A. Schumacher, WV, Ryan M. Schumacher, Peter A. Schumacher, Amanda M. (Ian) Dwier, Sebastian, FL, and Deanna Schumacher, Davenport; and one great grandchild, Savannah M. Perry, Meban, NC.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
