Angeline Ann Guzzo was born on July 18, 1921 in Sterling, IL, the daughter of Domenic and Lena (Cusimano) Guzzo. After moving to Rock Island with her family, she graduated from Rock Island High School. In her earlier years she lived in DeWitt, IA, rooming with a good friend Alice for $6.00 per week. They worked together as key punch operators.
Angie loved music, especially the Big Bands and enjoyed dancing at the Coliseum with her good friend Mary. It was here that she met her future Husband, Donato Giammetta. They were married on November 24, 1946. He preceded her in death in August of 2019. After Angie's family grew up and married, she became a volunteer at Vera French for 17 years and also became active with the Women's Christian Group. She also enjoyed spending time every week with her bowling friends and the Tuesday morning 'Country Bells'. Other hobbies she enjoyed were crocheting, knitting and ceramics where she spent many hours on the details of her cherished pieces. All of these hobbies and interests could not compare to the enjoyment she found spending time with her family and close friends.
