Cremation will be done with a memorial service to be held 2:00pm Thursday, May 19, 2022 at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory. There will be visitation 12:00pm till service time on Thursday at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association and condolences can be shared at www.rungemortuary.com.
Alan was born December 20, 1948 in Iowa City, IA. He had been employed as a baker and general utility man with Wonder Bread & Sarah Lee bakeries for several years prior to his retirement.
Alan was a sports enthusiast and loved to watch baseball, basketball, and football. His favorite teams were the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Bears and Cubs. Earlier in life he liked to hunt, fish, and kept very active working and doing odd jobs.
Survivors include a daughter Teresa (Mark) Kipp, Bettendorf, IA; son Scott Mason, Davenport, IA; 10 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
Alan was preceded in death by his mother and step father Maxine and Frank Cole; step brothers; and step sister.
