Yvonne Gertrude Smith

SMITH, Yvonne G. – 87, of Halifax/Dartmouth passed away peacefully on September 22, 2016 in the Northwood Centre, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Dartmouth, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Sybil (DeBaie) Hebert. Yvonne’s passions in life were bowling, dancing, music and reading. She was involved with foster care for over 20 years. Prior to retirement she worked for Dartmouth Cable and Moir’s Chocolates as a book keeper. She is survived by her loving children; Patricia Walsh, Stephen (Beth) Walsh and Gerald (Amanda) Smith, sister; Bernadette, brothers; Blair, Claire, Emile, and Vernon, grandchildren; Veronica Lloyd, Christine Walsh, Melanie Walsh and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband Edward Walsh and second husband Hugh Smith, daughter; Barbara Lloyd and son; Gary Walsh. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 28, from 6 – 8 pm. A private family burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Northwood Foundation or the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
