Aunty Barney,  Alan, Jennifer and Grant I am so sorry for your loss and my thoughts are with you during this sad time.  I have many memories of time spent with Uncle Jim and Baldwin Family Reunions when we were younger which include a lot of love and laughter.  I know we are separated by many miles and have spent less time together as the years have flown by but I do treasure those memories! I remember very well the good times we had in Buckingham going rabbit hunting in the late fifties. We used to throw his dad's beagles in the trunk of his car and go after rabbits and at the end of the hunt it was always a blast jumping of the snow shoes to catch the dogs to tie them up and collect them all

 I was employed with Ford Credit for 38 years, retiring December 2018. I had the pleasure, and anyone who knew Jim, knows it was a pleasure to work with him in the same industry.
Jim was always smiling. That big genuine smile.
I last saw Jim in Costco in December. We had a nice talk, reminiscing about old times.
I am very sorry to hear of his passing.

I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing.  We were  high school classmates and remained in contact with the Buckingham Group.  After all these years it was still important to hang out with high school friends.

Jim Baldwin  was 7 years older than I , an elder brother to my good friend Michael, hence a role model of import, as I spent a good deal of time at their home ,tossing footballs in their backyard, or watching Jim and his brother Bob working on their motorcycles in the driveway..  they came by their interests honestly   as their father Alan was a graduate engineer and a sports enthusiast, and their mother Dorothy was an excellent homemaker and ever unswervingly supportive of her children’s best interests.. excellent role models all—  James MacLaren

Alan, Grant,Barney and Jim. I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Jim. I have fond memories growing up in Jim and Barneys back yard. My late mother and father whom have just passed within a year called Jim and Barney their friends and enjoyed their time together. If I wasn't golfing with Jim in the summer we curled together in the winter. A quiet competitor that loved playing sports with friends and family, and stayed fiercely loyal to his beloved Maple Leafs. A man that I respected and considered him to be a role model for me along with my own father. It will be up to Jim's children now to keep the "Jimmy Juice" wine brand pushing into the next century. The memories of the stare Jim use to give when missing a wide open take out combined with his laughter as I hooked a ball 100 yards into the woods will never fade. The Jackson family will always be grateful for the Baldwin family friendship. Shane, Colleen, late Graham and Karen.

We are so sorry to hear of Mr Baldwin’s passing. I think I spent more time at your house than my own when I was going through those all important teenage years. I remember watching Jim fall asleep in his favourite chair in the basement by the wood stove with a drink in his hand several times. I also remember him pulling the car over on the highway to Quebec cursing because he thought it was a flat tire. Turns out it was the drums playing at the beginning of the Van Halen song Alan and I were playing in the car. “Hot for Teacher” in case you were wondering. I cherish those memories and the times I spent in your families’ company all those years.

I had the pleasure of working with Jim at Ford Atlantic for almost two decades.
His wit,  humour and intelligence made him an invaluable member of the team.
Always cool under pressure, whenever Jim spoke we all listened, because he always thought things through.
He was a true gentleman and  the Dealer organization really liked him and appreciated his contributions to their success.

Most of our family had the privilege of working with Jim while he was employed with Ford Motor Company.  Jim always entered with a smile and engaged with each and every employee. He was personable and a consummate professional.  We missed Jim when he retired but knew from  his many stories how much he was looking forward to spending more time with his family and enjoying his sports.  May your wonderful memories of Jim comfort you in the years ahead.

It is with sadness to hear about Jim's passing. I only had the pleasure of his company a few times a year at Ford headquarters in Oakville for the Fordstar meetings, but he made your day with his smile and positive attitude.  I remember the time he brought a bottle of screech with him for us to try! Hard not to forget that taste ha ha!  He was a true gentleman! Rest in peace Jim!

It’s not often someone special enters your life who makes a huge impact.  That person was Jim.  He was a dear friend to my mother, Diane and my late father, Neil. They would have a talk over coffee at the local BK while doing his crossword.

Jim always had a story to tell and never made anyone feel left out.  He was very kind and caring.  Had a wealth of knowledge about everything and everyone and was truly a genuine kind soul.  

I remember a story Jim told us. Last Christmas he bought a beautiful sweater for Marion at Mic Mac Mall when he was shopping with Jennifer.  He then had to take Marion shopping and lo and behold, Marion noticed the sweater he just bought, tried it on, and wanted to buy it.  Jim quickly and sneakily, told the clerk he had already bought the sweater so she couldn't purchase it.  Jim told Marion that the sweater was way too short in the arms and the colour was terrible, because he knew she wouldn’t want it then.  He then felt obligated to buy another sweater for her and purchased a cashmere sweater for a few hundred dollars.  Was an expensive action but he said she was worth it as he wanted her surprised when she opened her gift.  Christmas Day arrives and there she is, opening the gift and seeing the original sweater from Jim.  He was sneaky and she loved it.

Jim spoke of his family at every interaction.  I haven’t had the privilege of meeting them, but I know the love and pride he had for all his children and all his grand children and being their Papa.  He sent me a picture of the Toronto Maple Leaf gift the grandkids got him for Christmas.  I will attach the picture.  

We spoke to Jim last Saturday and he was in great spirits.  Our hearts are broken in pieces and we are so very sorry to Marion and the family for their irreplaceable loss.  Jim was truly one of a kind.

Well, Mom gave me the news last night and this just broke my heart. Great memories, growing up next door.  Playing golf, deep-sea fishing with Willie & Carl, driving to Quebec with the Baldwin family, and a whole lot more. I am really glad we got to have a good chat when I was home last summer. My thoughts are with Mrs. B, Alan, Jennifer, Grant, and their families. I live on the other side of the globe and I miss him already.

Auntie Barney, Alan, Jennifer and Grant, I am so sorry for the loss of Uncle Jim. I have so many fond memories of Uncle Jim and all of them include tons of laughter! Every year I say that I am going to travel to the East coast and then life gets in the way. I strongly regret not getting there sooner... a painful lesson to always make the time.
