DAVIS, Sharon Anne - It’s with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved Sharon Davis, at the age of sixty three. On 2012 05 13, in the company of her loving family, Sharon lost her courageous three year battle with cancer. Daughter of Ruth and Murray (deceased) Young, Sharon is survived by her husband Robert “Bob” Davis, Children; Jason (Lucy), Jarrett (Lori) and Ashley (Jeff); her treasured grand children, Keira, Raelyn, Aeden and Cian; and her sisters, Marilyn, Joan and Patricia . While Sharon was originally born in St. John, New Brunswick, she lived her life in Halifax/Dartmouth and graduated from Prince Andrew High School in 1968. Sharon obtained an Education degree from Dalhousie University and then spent over thirty years touching the lives of others as a teacher with the Halifax Regional School Board (HRSB). In the later part of her career, Sharon, proudly, obtained her Masters of Education and finished her career as a Vice Principle within the HRSB. To all those whom she befriended throughout her career; know that she thought of you until her final moments. Your support and friendships were a guiding force in her long battle. Sharon is remembered fondly by virtue of all the lives she touched and for bringing music into the hearts of all including her activities with school choirs, dance teams and with the St. James United Church. Following her retirement in 2004, Sharon devoted all of her time and efforts to supporting her children and to cherishing her grand children. She was always available to offer guidance and support to those in need, consistently placing the needs of others before her own, even at the height of her horrible illness. Words cannot speak how deeply missed Sharon will be by all those who knew and loved her. The family would like to note a special thanks to Susan and Brian McFarland (and family), Colleen and Gary Doucette and Joan Birchell for your unwavering support and guidance through these difficult times. A special thanks to all that cared for Sharon, Dr. Mark Doreen, Nurse Lynn, Dr. Robert Rutledge, Nurse Marcia, the 11th floor VG Chemo Nurses, Dr. Sabo and the Nursing staff of 5A. A visitation will be held on May 15, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 at the A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home located at 217 Portland Street, (902) 461-0700.
