It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our sister, Sharon Rita who left us too soon on May 26th. She is now joined with our parents, the late Vincent Neil Campbell and our late mother Stella Margaret Campbell.
Born in Eastern Passage, Sharon grew up in a busy household with her three siblings. She is survived by her sister Shirley Anne (Gary), sister Loretta (Bernie) and brother John (Debbie).
Sharon had a strong faith in the Anglican church and loved to sing. She was a member of several parishes, most recently Christ Church on Dundas Street in Dartmouth. She also attended St. Peter's Anglican Church Parish in Eastern Passage where her family also attended. She enjoyed bible study classes and taking the lay reader’s course to further her knowledge in the church.
Sharon experienced a lot of health issues in her life but was always such a fighter. Right from the day she was born, she amazed all of us with her strength and determination. She had an incredible memory, easily recalling names, dates and places that many of us couldn’t. She loved to recount stories from our childhood and wonderful memories in Cape Breton with Mom & Dad.
She was very proud of the accomplishment to become independent and live on her own at the age of 50. With the support of her family, she lived on Parker Street and then at the Dartmouth Seniors Service Centre Downtown. She enjoyed walking around downtown and loved nothing more than enjoying a few spa treatments and dropping into local retailers for some impromptu shopping!
Sharon loved lots of things; new babies, a good cup of tea, a great outfit, butterflies, and being involved in everything and anything! She also enjoyed volunteering and helping in the community. She volunteered 1,000 hours in Recreation at Oakwood Terrace Nursing Home where she later became a resident. Sharon was a featured singer in many wonderful concerts organized by the Department. She loved the stage and everything that came with it: the costumes, the music and the mic! Thank you to everyone who supported Sharon at Oakwood. Your kindness and compassion will never be forgotten. Special thanks to Gary, Krista and the incredible team of care providers.
Sharon was a loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews spanning three generations: Kelli & Kim, Janeya & Ryan, Ashley & Darcy. Great: Nikolaas, Amanda, Timothy, Anthony, Mackenzie, Bradley, Evan, Campbell, Bella and her soon to arrive sibling. Great Great: Avery, Joanna, Carey, Jack, Piper and Charlie.
Rest peacefully Shaz, Mom and Dad have you now. We love you so much.
