Sadie Marie Duncan

DUNCAN, Sadie Marie – age 86 passed away peacefully on Friday April 15, 2011 surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Bruce Edward, parents Clyde and Ida Mae Lintaman, three brothers Ralph, Frank, and Jim, four sisters Margaret, Marion, Mert and Ann. Sadie left behind a loving family, three children: Margaret “Peggy” Kentville, Alan (Margaret) Groton, Mass. and Peter (Mary), Kentville. Eight grandchildren: Jennifer (Barry), Michael (Steplanie), Mechelle (Steve), William, Patricia, Katherine, Victoria, Iain. 3 Great grandchildren: Taylor, Stevie, Keira. Sadie is also survived by two sisters Doris Orton, and Betty Dooks as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours. Sadie shared a special bond with her neice Patti Casavechia, nephew Bill Zinck, and godchild Suzanne Tipert.

Special thanks goes out to the staff of the ICU and palliative care units at Dartmouth General for their support and care of Sadie and her family at this difficult time. Sadie was a life long member of Saint Andrew’s Anglican Church and an avid card player. Sadie’s church family was very important to her. Her strength of character and faith in God was an inspiration to those whose lives she touched.

A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Locks Road on Tuesday, April 19 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Trevor Lightfoot officiating. A private family internment will follow.
