The heartbroken family of Ronald Robert Naugle, 75, of Eastern Passage, is saddened to announce his unexpected passing on July 28th, 20ll, at the Dartmouth General Hospital, surrounded by his family and in the arms of his loving wife. Ron was the only child of the late Robert and Minnie Naugle. He was raised in the home of his grandparents, the late George and Jeanette MacDonald. He is survived by the love of his life, Eva (Eddy), his wife of 51 years. He is also survived by his much loved daughters, Sharon Hartling (Jim), Janet Tousignant (Yves) and Rhonda Naugle-Gilby (Derek) and his cherished grandchildren, Evan and Micaela Hartling and Hannah and Connor Tousignant. Ron’s world revolved around his family. As an only child he regarded his in-laws as brothers and sisters and leaves to mourn Lloyd Eddy (Edna), Maurice Eddy (Marie), Marilyn Sheppard (Ivan) and Lorraine Eddy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who were dear to his heart. Ron owned and operated Naugle’s Service Station for 42 years. He was a proud charter member of the Eastern Passage-Cow Bay Lions Club where he held many positions throughout the years and received numerous awards, including the Judge Brian Stevenson Fellowship Award. Both he and Eva were recipients of the Volunteer Wall of Recognition Award for their community involvement. He was a member of Eastern Lodge 8686, a past board member of Ocean View Manor and Credit Union Atlantic. He was predeceased by in-laws Gerald and Marion Ellis, Forrest and Alma MacDonald and Clyde Eddy. Visitation at A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth, on Sunday, July 31st from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, 346 Cow Bay Road, Eastern Passage, on Monday, August 1st at 2 pm with interment in the Church cemetery. A reception will follow at the Eastern Passage-Cow Bay Lions Club, 65 Horne’s Road, Eastern Passage. Family flowers only.
