FEX, Robert - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Bob on December 16, 2018 at 70 years of age. Those of you who knew and loved him and have stood by him on his often difficult journey of illness will be comforted to know that he is finally free from pain. To his last moments he was a brave and courageous man, a dedicated partner and friend, an example for us all. Bob was born in St. Jerome Quebec to parents Jacqueline Boisvert and Gerard Fex on Oct., 24 1948. He worked as a Bus Driver for Metro Transit and Acadian Buslines and also in Aircraft Sheet Metal Fabrication and Aircraft Maintenance. But his abilities went far beyond his formal schooling. Among neighbours and friends he was known as a real MacGyver. And he could be found cooking up a gourmet meal or riding his motorcycle with Anne at his side….such a versatile and interesting man. Little wonder that Anne’s first words when she got home were “What’s for supper!? “ His favourite pass-time was perusing the weekly flyers and making up his list of “bargains”. Heaven help the delivery person who forgot to drop them off on time. The sight of them in the driveway filled him with glee...that was our Bob. He was predeceased by his parents and younger brother Michel. Left behind to mourn his passing is the love of his life Anne White, his dedicated and loving nephew Jim, niece Nathalie, Stacey(his Princess), Brother and Sister in law David and Lorraine White, Sister in Law Francine, best friend Ian Porter, Jacques Sigouin and numerous other relatives and friends in Quebec and Nova Scotia. The family would like to thank all of the first responders who came to Bob’s aid and the staff of Dartmouth General Hospital for making this difficult journey a little easier to bear. In keeping with Bob’s wishes there will be no funeral or memorial service. He has been cremated and will be buried at a later date. Kindly make your donations to Salvation Army 171 Main Street Unit 104, Dartmouth, NS B2X 1S1 as this was Bob’s charity of choice.
