Mary Arnold MacFarlane

MACFARLANE, Mary Arnold - of Porters Lake, daughter of the late Harris and Ida (Hodgson) Arnold passed away peacefully on May 26, 2023. Mary is survived by her husband Ronald MacFarlane, daughter Karen (Brian), grandson Justin Arnold Rix, sister Marina (Tom) Pufpaff of Dallas, niece Shelly (Pat) of Houston, her precious nephews David (Sandra), Robert (Cathy), Jim (Karen). Her great nieces and nephews Hannah, Amanda, Jeannette, Micheal, Alexa, Mathew were very special to her, as well as her new great great niece and nephew Isabel and William. Mary had many very special nieces and nephews and an honorary granddaughter Chloe come into her life over the years.

Mary was predeceased by her beloved Sister Catherine (Bob), and adored great Nephew Robbie.

We are grateful for the love and care shared with all of the family by Nanci and Bruce Marshall.

Mary spent most of her career at Clayton Developments, and later in life at Companion Animal Hospital, she loved working with people and animals. She was a devoted member of the Church of the Holy Spirit. She and Ron were happily involved in church activities. They loved to host dinner parties, go to dances, and travel together. One of Mary’s favourite pastimes was to feed and watch the birds.

Her kindness and concern for family, friends and animals always came first in her life.

Mary loved all of her friends, they all held a special place in her heart.

Her daughter and grandson were the stars in her life and shone brightly in her eyes.

Mother, you are with your Mom, Dad, Catherine, Tom, Robbie, and your beloved cat Doing!!! We will think of you every day and miss you forever.

Cremation has taken place and her service will be held at the Church of the Holy Spirit Monday June 5 at 11am, reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice, or visiting Ron in the coming months.
