Osborne, Kenneth D. - 79 of Lr. Sackville passed away peacefully in the Q E II Halifax Infirmary with his loving family by his side. Born in Eastern Passage, he was the son of the late Joseph and Ruth (Fletcher) Osborne. Ken worked for Atlantic Wholesalers for a number of years. He was an avid outdoors, enjoying fishing and hunting as well as darts, bowling and dancing. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Calais Br. # 162, Lr Sackville. He was the entertainment coordinator for the Seniors club. He was a member of the Newfie Club as well as the 50 plus club. He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years Anne C. Covin-Osborne; sons Kenneth (Brenda), Toronto; John, St. Margaret’s Bay; step-sons Scott, James and Kevin; daughters Carlene (Patrick) Martel, Waverley; Michelle (Paul) Perrin, Toronto; sister Elizabeth “Cookie” Schultz, Dartmouth; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by brothers Donald and James; sisters Ellen and Barbara. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 am Thursday, December 17, in the Royal Canadian Legion Calais Br. # 162, 45 Sackville Crossroad. Rev. Robert Chapman officiating. Burial will take place in Mount Hermon Cemetery. No flowers by request, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Lung Association Nova Scotia.
