It is with great sadness that we the family of the late Kenneth Findlay announce his passing on June 7, 2016 at the QEII Halifax Infirmary site at the age of 55. Born in Halifax he was the precious son of Gertrude “Trudy” (Shand) and Keith Findlay. He is survived by his Mother Trudy, brother Doug (Donna Fortune), his wonderful and dedicated care giver of 27 years, Scott Banks, Aunt Millie and Uncle Ed Kuhar, Ottawa, cousins Kevin and Jason of Ottawa and Toronto, and the best of friends in Patty Dunbrack, Blaise Fougere, Eddie MacKenzie, Steve Marsh and Larry Steeves. Predeceased by his father Keith, maternal grandparents Kathleen and Sumner Shand of Bear Point, paternal grandparents David and Kate Findlay of Montreal and Uncle David of Montreal. As a quadriplegic for many years Ken never lost his sense of humor, he loved fish for supper and was always kind, caring and thoughtful of other people. There will be no viewing. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Wednesday, June 15th at 11 am in the Cole Harbour Fire Hall, 1150 Cole Harbour Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hope for Wildlife or a charity of your choice will be greatly appreciated. The family would like to thank the staff of 4 East and ICU at the Dartmouth General and 5.2 ICU of the QEII Halifax Infirmary for their wonderful care and kindness to Ken and the family.
