INGRAM, Kathleen Joan (Williams) - passed away peacefully at Halifax Hospice, March 31, 2023 after failing health the last few months. Kathy, as she was affectionately known by friends and family, was born in Saint John NB. on Aug 22, 1934. Kathy was the only child of Alvin and Gertrude Williams and was the light of their lives. Her early years were spent in Saint John and she enjoyed spending her summers on the Saint John River in their family boat. She graduated from Saint John High School in 1952. Kathy took great pride in keeping close contact with many of her classmates and attended many class reunions throughout the years. After high school Kathy went on to Mount Allison University for a secretarial certificate program. She worked briefly for TD Bank and then for Ford Motors in Saint John. It was during this period of time she met Jack (John Ingram) on a blind date. Kathy married the love of her life on April 21, 1956 and they were married for 64 years. Two years later they started their family and in 1961 Jack’s work took them to Halifax. They crossed the harbour to Dartmouth in 1962 and made Dartmouth their family home. Kathy was an active member of the Dartmouth Curling Club for many years. Kathy was past President of the Ladies Division and enjoyed the social connections long after she stopped curling. Kathy and Jack were part of the Down East Coasters Trailer club for many years and enjoyed spending time with the many families that were part of the club. Kathy enjoyed playing cards whether it was with her family or the lady’s bridge club. Kathy also volunteered as a part of the Tartan Team at the Halifax Airport. She was social by nature and enjoyed meeting and helping people passing through the airport. Kathy and Jack were longtime members of St Andrews Presbytery Church. Kathy was a part of the St Andrew’s Ladies Guild and the Atlantic Mission Society. She helped out where she could and always felt at home within St Andrew’s. Kathy enjoyed travelling. She loved the many trips to the Canadian Brier over the years and attending the Silver Broom overseas. Kathy and Jack relished their trips around the world especially when they had an opportunity to visit family. Kathy cherished all of her travels and still had a bucket list until her last days. Kathy is survived by her 2 sons Lewis (Lana Crewe) Fort McMurray, AB; and Paul (Sarah Reaburn) Dartmouth, NS., 6 grandsons, Christopher (Laura Trout), Hinton, AB; Justin (Ashley), Fort McMurray, AB; Byron (Alyssa Marks) Toronto, ON; Jeremy and Taylor, Dartmouth, NS and Joel, Victoria BC. and her only granddaughter, Kailee (Tony Huffman), Fort McMurray, AB. Kathy also had 9 great grandchildren - Edwin and Ivy, Toronto ON; Waylon and Faye, Hinton, AB and Ellie, Willow, Charles, Gabriel and Arthur all from Fort McMurray AB. Kathy was extremely proud of her family and loved to share stories about the latest accomplishments of all her grandkids. She was predeceased by her husband Jack; parents, Alvin and Gertrude Williams and her in-laws, Ronald and Eileen Ingram. A funeral service will be held at St Andrews Presbytery Church in Dartmouth on April 10th at 10:00 AM. Rev. Dr. P.A McDonald will be officiating and there will be a small reception at the church following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Halifax Hospice (hospicehalifax.ca) or St. Andrew`s Presbyterian Church Dartmouth.
