Karl is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Marjorie (Ruggles) Isenor; his daughter Darlene (Wally) Ashley, and his son Dwayne (Joe Plante) Isenor. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Amy (Andre) Boutilier, Bradley (Mellisa) Ashley (Calgary, AB); and Great-Granddaughter Adelaide Boutilier.
Karl was predeceased by his Grandson Noah Simon Karl in December 2019; his parents Alexander and Pearl (Phalen) Isenor, and In-Laws Charles and Ida Ruggles. He now joins his Sister Frances Isenor, and in-laws Foster Hines, Narda Isenor, and Ronald Ruggles.
Karl is survived by his siblings: Leroy (Audrey), Kay (Lester) Parker, Colin (Susan), Bruce (Mildred), Heather (Bill) Smith, Mark (Barb), Garth; and his in-laws: Donnie (Sharon) Ruggles, Jeannie Hines (Ron Lowe), Betty (John) Gladwin, and Marion Ruggles.
Karl ran a Service Station in Dutch Settlement for over 30 years and retired from the Department of Transportation in Miller Lake. He was a founding member of the Dutch Settlement Volunteer Fire Department, and Chartered Member and King Lion of the Milford and District Lions Club. Karl had many hobbies and past times that he enjoyed over the years including Hunting, Fishing, Camping, doing puzzles, gathering maple syrup, spending time at Shaw’s Lake, and Dancing with his wife at the Senior’s Club in Truro. His greatest passion was his family and being a great husband, dad, grandfather and great-grandfather.
We thank the many Doctors, Nurses, and EHS Attendants who have helped with Karl’s care over the past years while he struggled with Vascular Dementia, and especially Dr. Ian McNeil of the Elmsdale Medical Centre. We invite Family and friends to celebrate his life during a visitation from 1-3pm on Friday, October 16th in Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
