MCDOUGALL, John W. – 70, of Dartmouth/Halifax, passed away November 15, 2019 in the Q E II Infirmary Site. Born in Halifax he was the son of the late Peter and Marguerite (Zwicker) McDougall. John was a devoted husband, proud father and grandfather. He enjoyed camping with his children and watching their baseball and paddling when they were young. Many Saturday nights were spent playing cards and taunting with his best friends Larry and Nettie Connolly. He enjoyed travelling to other countries and cruises with Shirley. He loved his time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Shirley, son; David (Amanda), daughter; Leah (Danny) Ray, brother; Alan (Susan), sisters; Jean, Marguerite and Christine (Blair), grandchildren; Staci, Christopher, Alexander, Patrick, Matthew and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers; James, Peter and Francis in infancy, sister; Emily and nephew; Ian. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 19, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth. Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, November 20, at 1pm in St. Margaret of Scotland Anglican Church, 3751 Robie Street, Halifax. Rev. Canon Charles Bull, officiating. Burial will take place in Oakridge Memory Garden.
