James Henry Hines

Hines, James H. – of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully February, 2, 2015 at the age of 84, at the Adelaide Respite Inn, in Waverley. Jim was born in Glace Bay, and was the son of the late Harry and Bertha (Daley) Hines. He was a devoted employee of Imperial Oil for 33 years and enjoyed every minute of his nearly 32 years of retirement. Jim enjoyed 56 years of marriage to his loving wife and would never miss an opportunity to get her on to the dance floor. He will always be remembered for his favorite response when asked, how are you doing Jim", he would say " A One Jim Dandy". He is survived by his sons Sandy of Dartmouth and Christopher (Heidi) of Ottawa; grandchildren Jacob, Spencer, Benjamin and Noah. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 56 years Lynn, brothers Chesley and Austin, sisters Peggy and Ethel. He will be cremated and visitation with the family will be from 6 – 8 pm on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 1 pm on Friday, February 6, 2015 in St. Clements Roman Catholic Church, 16 Gaston Road, Dartmouth with Father Wojciech Stangel OMI officiating. Burial will take place at Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Family flowers only please. Donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society of Nova Scotia.
