Conrad, Isabell L. – of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully Tuesday November 4, 2014 in the Infirmary Site Q E II. Born in Caledonia, Queens Co. she was the daughter of the late Harold and Hilda (Cashman) Conrad. Isabell was a graduate of the CNA program and worked her entire nursing career at the Nova Scotia Hospital. She loved to dance, play the piano and violin. She joined the Down Home and Bedford Fiddler Groups. Isabell started her own catering business and became well known for her coconut cream and lemon pies. She was a long-time member of the Kiwanis Club and an active member of Port Wallis United Church in their various activities. She held many positions as a member of Port Wallis United, including custodian, trustee, Elder and the UCW. She loved clothes and shopping and worked part time at a clothing store and quickly became buyer for the store. She is survived by her brothers, Glen and George, of Toronto, Merrill, Dartmouth; sister, Mary (Bill) Turner, Windsor; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Velena DeLong. Visitation will be held on Sunday November 9 from 2-8pm and the funeral service will be 10am Monday November 10, both from Port Wallis United Church. Rev. Ivan Gregan officiating. Interment will be in Harmony Mills. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Port Wallis United Church Fund or a charity of choice.
