Age 87, of Dartmouth, died November 20, 2016 in Dartmouth General Hospital. George attended the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design before beginning his working life. Upon retirement, he returned to painting. As an artist, his primary focus was nautical and waterfront scenes of Halifax Harbour. His art was sold through various Halifax galleries including the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia (Arts Sales and Rentals). George was an avid walker and could be seen daily walking with his wife Marie in Shubie Park and the Lake Banook trail. He is survived by his wife, Marie (Connors); son, George “Skip” (Diane Leger) of Moncton; daughter, Karen of Dartmouth; sister, Mary Isnor of Wolfville and brother, Joseph of Dartmouth. Predeceased by father James and mother Imelda, brothers James and John and sister Marion Cox. There will be no funeral service at George's request.
