Frances Helena Manley

MANLEY, Frances Helena – 96, Halifax, passed away peacefully at Saint Vincents Nursing Home, May 10, 2013. Born and resided in Dartmouth her entire life, Frances was the daughter of the late Alexander and Mary Elizabeth (Isnor) Smith. Frances is survived by her son, Bernard (Bernie) and wife Loretta of Bedford, NS; two grandchildren, Janeya of Edmonton, Alta. and Ryan of Cole Harbour, NS. Frances will be remembered for her generosity to others and her willingness to always lend a helping hand. Frances was an avid baker, known for bringing joy to many people with her delicious birthday and wedding cakes; enjoyed sewing, needle point, crafts and, along with husband Sam, many weekends with Scotia Campers. Frances was predeceased by her husband, Reginald (Sam); infant daughter, Mary Jane; brother Maxwell (Max) Smith; sister Mary (Becky) Alexander; sister Mildred (Min) Hutchinson. Arrangements have been entrusted to A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home, Dartmouth. Funeral service will be held 2 pm, May 16, at St. Alban’s Anglican Church, 345 Pleasant St., Dartmouth, where Frances was an active lifetime parishioner. Rev. Frances Drolet-Smith officiating. Reception will be held in the church hall. Burial will be in Mount Hermon Cemetery, Dartmouth, following reception. Family flowers only.
