PETTIPAS, Emanuel Fairbanks “Manny” - Age 95, of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on June 3, 2017. Born in East Chezzetcook, he was the son of the late Edward and Mary “Mamie” Pettipas. He worked at the Sugar Refinery and then with the Dartmouth Marine Slips for over 40 years. He was an avid softball player and coach. Another favorite hobby was his vegetable garden and he always enjoyed sharing his crops with friends and family. Manny was also known for his elaborate storytelling, for which even today we are not sure which ones are actually true. He is survived by his loving wife of over 70 years Lillian “Lily” (nee Stevens); daughters Janet Mossman (Jim), Bonnie Hawley (Jim), Patricia “Trish” Pettipas-Cook (John), son Robert “Bob” (Bonnie); Grandchildren Jeffrey (Natalie), David (Carol), Kimberly, Blair (Angela), Amanda, Chris (Angela), Ashley (Luke), Natalie (Angie), sister Mary “Pearl” Guitard and 8 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Elizabeth “Elsie” and brothers Fredrick “Freddie” and Edward “Ed” and great-granddaughter Ella Grace. Manny was proud to give special nick-names to each of the grand and great-grandchildren. Jeff “George”, David “Freddie”, Kim “Rita”, Blair “Jackie”, Mandy “Lucy”, Chris “Reggie”, Ashley “Ginger”, Natalie “Rosie”, Mikayla “Betty”, Hannah “Ann”, Ewan “Lil Manny”, Hayden “Peter”, Jonathan “Frankie”, Quinn “May”, Ella Grace “Mary”, Maeve “Violet”, Matthew “Phillip”. The family wants to acknowledge VON nurse and friend Tammy Slawter. Thanks for all your care, friendship and for being our special angel. There will be no visitation.
