

GRINTER, Elsie Bernice - It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Mother (Elsie) at the age of 90 on Tuesday October 11, 2022 in the Dartmouth General Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Ivy (Borgal) and Averet Clattenburg. Mom grew up in Pleasant Harbour and at a young age moved to Dartmouth with her family where she spent the rest of her life.
Over the years Mom was taught to knit by her mother and became very well known for her sweaters and baby sets. She even sold these items on consignment in a little shop in P.E.I. Over her married life Mom enjoyed Family vacations with us six kids and Dad in Lake Charlotte where great memories were made. She loved her Family they meant the world to her.
Mom always loved to her hear father play the fiddle which gave her a love for music. If there was a dance she wouldn’t miss getting up every chance she got to show her moves. She and her sister attended many Country Time Shows where she would sit and tap her feet to the music.
Survived by children Sharon(Jim)Crewe, Jean(Donald)Saulnier, Linda(Mike)Pettipas, Roy(Janet)Grinter, Thomas all of H.R.M. 10 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great Great Grandchildren. 1 sister Norma(Bill)Lindsay.
Predeceased by her husband George Arthur Grinter, son Charles Grinter, Grandson Donald James Saulnier, brothers Hurburt, Curtis, Vance, and Lawrence. Sisters Myrtle. Helen, Carmen. Velda, Sheila. She was also predeceased by Companion Paul Cyr.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October20, from 6pm-8pm. Service will take place on Friday October21, 11 am all at A. L. Mattatall’s Funeral Home 217 Portland Street.
