MacKenzie, Edna Rhoda – 86, of Eastern Passage, passed away May 9, 2015 in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII Halifax with her daughter by her side. Born in Eastern Passage, she was the daughter of the late Clarence “Ned” and Ruth “Mae” (Ritcey) MacDonald. She was employed for many years with the Eastern Passage Credit Union. She was an active member of St. Peter’s Anglican Church where she taught Sunday school in her earlier years. She enjoyed camping and spending time with her family. She took great pride in raising her family and being a grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband, George in 2002; sister, Helena Oxner; brothers Lloyd and Bob. She leaves to mourn daughter Karen (Harold) Johnson; son, Eric (Laurel); sisters, Betty (Clyde) Wambolt, Brenda Hodgson; grandchildren, Melanie (Kelly) Osborne, Kelly (Justin) Peters, and Mark Johnson, Tyler and Kaitlyn MacKenzie; and great-grandchildren, Thomas and Lewis Osborne; and all of Eastern Passage. Edna was loved by her many nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place 2-4pm and 7-9pm, Thursday May 14, 2015 in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home, Dartmouth. Funeral will be held 11am Friday, May 15, 2015 at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Eastern Passage. Rev. Stephen Croft officiating.
