Donald Robert Smith

Smith, Donald Robert-75, of Dartmouth, passed away January 10, 2013 at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born November 8, 1937 in River Hebert, NS he was a son of the late Wellington (Duke) and Margaret (Belliveau) Smith. Don worked in accounting most of his life for various firms in Halifax and Dartmouth. He was a member of Saint Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Dartmouth, where he served on various committees through the years. He enjoyed spending time with his children and at his cottage in Tatamagouche. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Dorothy (Comeau) Smith; daughter Kristen, Dartmouth; son, Colin, Timberlea; brother, David, River Hebert; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters-in-law, Jeanie Smith and Elizabeth Anne Landry. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. Funeral mass will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday January 15, 2012 at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 10 Maple Street, Dartmouth. Reception to follow. A private interment will be held at a later date in Lockerby Cemetery, Tatamagouche. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice.
