It is with sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of David James Alexander Bennett, on October 11th, 2014 while on a cruise ship with his soul-mate and wife Beverly. Born in Halifax on April 2nd, 1955; he was the proud son of Ann (Parker) Bennett and the late David James Bennett Sr. of Dartmouth.David Bennett was an invaluable employee of IMP Aerospace of Halifax International Airport for 34 years. In addition to being a dedicated employee, David was a friend and role model for an abundance of IMP co-workers. David spent a large portion of his life participating in his passion for the game of Baseball, he was a talented pitcher for minor and senior leagues through Nova Scotia.
Whether it was spending time with friends and family fishing on the lake, or cruising the Caribbean seas; David’s kind hearted soul was happiest on the water. David was a Platinum Cruiser with Carnival Cruise Line and was able to cruise to over 15 Caribbean destinations, from 7 different ports on 9 different Cruise Ships. David was delighted and blessed to experience travel alongside his loving wife and many friends and family that he cared for enormously. When David was not spending time on the water, he was spending his time with his two precious grandchildren playing at the park, kicking around a soccer ball, or teaching them how to throw rocks in the water.
David is survived by his wife, Beverly (Lush), his son David Jr (Maegan Crosby); his daughters Nicole (John Turton), and Melissa (Andrew King), his precious grandchildren Rylan and Jordyn Turton. He is also survived by his mother, Ann Bennett; sisters Dorothy Bennett, Sharon (Gary Sponagle), Heather (Ken Leblanc) and brother Robert (Diana) Bennett.
