Bruce was the eldest son of the late Grace Frances (Tilton) and the late Arthur Hazen Ward of Saint John, New Brunswick.
Bruce was nurtured by his parents and his grandparents in the richness of the Christian faith along with the rich world of music. Music was important in his life first as a radio broadcaster and then in his life as a parish priest.
Bruce was deeply faithful to God in Christ by the way that he lived each day and his ministry showed a special sensitivity for those who had experienced loss. He was a good, loving and thoughtful person who loved all of creation.
He celebrated life in many meaningful ways. He spent much valued time keeping in regular touch with family and friends. He loved the ocean, walking in the park, watching the Blue Jays play a good baseball game and he loved getting engrossed in the Star Trek culture. In the last 15 years he volunteered happily at the Seaside fm radio station.
Bruce is sadly missed by his wife, Susan; his daughter, Lindsay (Paul); brothers, Philip Ward, and Richard Ward; beloved grandchildren, Nikala and Gabriel; cousin, Stephen Knowles; brothers-in-law, Geoff, John and Ted; nieces, Tammy, Christie, Kimberley, Jeanne, Catherine, Janet and great-niece Emily; nephews, Geoffrey and James. Bruce was predeceased by his much loved aunts, Catharine Tilton (Cassie) and Josephine Knowles(Jodie); cousin, Meredith Westlake (Knowles) and brother-in-law Paul Sayre.
Bruce's funeral is Friday, October 5th at 2 pm. at Christ Church, Dartmouth. The service is under the care of Archbishop Ron Cutler and Rev. Kyle Wagner. Visitation is Thursday, October 4th at Christ Church from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.
